A straight pin punch (also called just a pin punch) is a tool used to drive solid pins, bolts, dowels, rivets out of a hole after they have been loosened, or to position them.
“Straight” refers to the shank being uniform in diameter (i.e. not tapered) so it contacts the pin squarely and pushes it straight without wobbling or damaging the pin or the hole.
A set includes multiple pin punches of different diameters so you can match the punch tip to the pin in use.
