A spiral-flute hand reamer is a reaming tool used by hand (usually with a wrench on a square end) to finish holes to precise sizes, smooth the internal surface, and/or slightly enlarge an existing hole. The spiral flutes mean the cutting edges are helical rather than straight; this helps in certain applications.
