Long-series bits, sometimes referred to as aircraft-length bits, have longer flute and overall lengths than standard jobber bits. They’re ideal for drilling in deep or confined spaces.
They tend to be more flexible and may deflect or wander if used on the wrong setup, so they’re best with rigid drill presses or well-secured materials.
